Bonnie Cardenas, PT,

Bonnie
Cardenas, PT, President received her Physical Therapy degree from
CSUN in 1974. After 10 years of hospital based practice Bonnie opened
a private practice specializing in the treatment of orthopedic
problems. Since then she has attained certification as a Feldenkrais®
practitioner. She currently holds private and group classes. She has
also developed a specialty in the treatment of pelvic muscle
dysfunction and serves as a consultant to the UCLA Pelvic Pain
Clinic. Bonnie is trained in testing and evaluating techniques
specific to the FCE clients using the Isernhagen method, as well as
being trained in the assessment and treatment of TMJ dysfunction.

Joann Benjamin, PT, HPCS
|
|
Joann
Benjamin, PT, HPCS received her degree in Physical Therapy from
Washington University in 1983. She is a Guild Certified Feldenkrais®
practitioner and a Hippotherapy Clinical Specialist. Her primary
focus of practice has been neuro-rehabilitation, working with adults
and children. She has extensive experience working with patients with
chronic pain.

Yolande Mavity, PT, MPT
|
|
Yolande
Mavity, PT, MPT received her degree in Physical Therapy from
California State University, Northridge (CSUN) in 2008. While at
CSUN, she received numerous accolades, including the Roy Campanella
Scholarship. As a youth from 1983-1987, Yolande was a member of the
USA National Gymnastics Team, and was national champion on floor
exercise and vault. She was also a scholarship gymnast at the
University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) from 1987-1991.
Yolande's clinical expertise is primarily focused on orthopaedics and
sports medicine, and she often volunteers her time to assist Junior
Olympic gymnasts in Southern California. On the weekends, she is a
Brevet gymnastics judge, the highest ranking possible in the sport.

Bret McLeod, MPT, OCS,
Clinical Supervisor

Bret
McLeod, MPT, OCS, Clinical Supervisor has been a part of the Cardenas
team since July 2003. He
graduated with honors from California State University, Northridge in
2001. He was certified by the
California PT Board as an Orthopaedic Certified Specialist in 2005.
Bret has taken continuing education courses in treatment of the spine
and extremities, treatment of neural tension, post-surgical
rehabilitation and medical screening for the physical therapist. He volunteers as a clinical
instructor for physical therapy students from CSUN and USC. Bret enjoys spending time with his
family, fishing, hiking, skiing and mountain biking.

Anna Saunders, DPT
|

Anna
Saunders, DPT received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from USC in
May 2006. She has her Bachelor’s of Science in Classical Ballet
performance and has had the opportunity to work directly with
Broadway performers in New York City. Anna is experienced in the
treatment of various orthopaedic and neurological diagnoses and has
worked with high level athletes. As a former professional ballerina
and musician, Anna specializes in the evaluation & treatment of
the performing artist.

Louise Lew Nagahori, PTA

Louise
Lew Nagahori, PTA has been part of Cardenas
PT since 2002. She graduated with honors from the Physical Therapist
Assistant program at Professional Skills Institute, Santa Barbara in
1998. She received her
Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biological Sciences from UCI in 1994. Louise was
honored as a scholar athlete from Irvine Valley College after playing
collegiate softball. Louise is experienced in the treatment of
various orthopaedic, pelvic floor, and neurologic diagnoses. She has
taught patient education classes for the back, proper posture, and
body mechanics. Louise enjoys helping patients get back to their
activities as she herself appreciates being active with snowboarding,
hiking, backpacking and traveling.
